Dedicated to the memory of Thomas King

This site is a tribute to Thomas King, who was born in Ipswich on November 17, 2016. He is much loved and will always be remembered.

Thomas king was born six weeks early at 34 weeks on his dads birthday. Larissa and Jack his mum and dad were told by doctors 2 days after he was born that Thomas had a critical heart condition which was a tightening of his aortic valve which is the valve that helps with pumping blood to the body. Thomas needed to be taken to the Evelina Hospital in London in an emergency ambulance that had to come from London, so that he could get the required treatment.

Thomas received first class care from the staff at the Evelina Children's Hospital and the Paediatric Intensive care unit where he was for five weeks.
The procedures that were carried out are some that have changed the way child heart problems are tackled including the Hybrid procedure, which was invented by the hospitals cardiac surgery team to avoid high risk open heart surgery being attempted on small babies who have the condition "hypo-plastic left heart"

Thomas underwent two procedure while at Evelina but unfortunately Thomas was too poorly, doctors said there was nothing more that they could do to help him get better, so Larissa and Jack had to make the heart breaking decision to remove Thomas's ventilator. Thomas passed away on 29th December in his mum and dads arms.

The nurses, surgeons and doctors who looked after Thomas, and his parents are truly amazing, kind, knowledgeable and compassionate people who are saving millions of children's lives everyday but unfortunately on this occasion they couldn't but Larissa and Jack are so grateful for all they did.
Evelina and the nurses hold a special place in their hearts and always will.
